Fall Volleyball
The objective of the ASA Volleyball League is to promote the welfare of children and youth through physical fitness in an environment which focuses on building good sportsmanship, increasing volleyball skills and knowledge, and advancing team and personal growth.
The ASA Volleyball League is committed to partnering with our community schools, and parents to provide a quality volleyball program for all participants. This program will provide a positive and safe volleyball experience while promoting and instilling the ideals of honesty, respect, good sportsmanship, commitment, and loyalty at all levels of participation.
ASA volleyball is proud to offer various league levels for boys and girls. Players may start as early as 1st grade and can continue playing through 12th grade. We welcome all skill levels from beginner recreational to the advanced competitive player.
All ASA volleyball teams are coached by volunteers. We are always appreciative of the time, effort, and energy given by those who are willing to invest time in the youth of Allen and our surrounding communities. Want to make a positive impact in the life of a youth? Join our team of exceptional volunteer coaches! You make a difference in today's youth!

Additional Information
Teams are formed by the following methods:
- Pre-formed Teams
- A random DRAFT based on school or other criteria for placement (Mini Volleyball & Recreational leagues)
- Attend a tryout/player evaluations to be selected to a team (Competitive league only)
All divisions require a 4 team minimum. If a minimum of 4 teams is not reached by the end of registration, the ASA Volleyball Board reserves the right to merge some grades into one division if enrollment numbers justify such action.
PRE-FORMED TEAMS
Coaches may "bring their own team" which is considered a pre-formed team.
All teams are required to have a head coach and an assistant coach or team parent registered and certified through ASA.
No more than 3 coaches allowed per team.
Roster minimum of 9 players/max 12 players on pre-formed 6x6 teams. If a pre-formed team comes in with under 9 players, ASA has the right to add draft players to that roster. Mini Volley team rosters must have a minimum of 5 players and a maximum of 8 players. If a pre-formed team comes in with under 5 players, ASA has the right to add draft players to that roster.
NEW: If a coach pays the Team Fee, the roster will be set, and no additional players will be added to the roster.
All coaches and players must register individually
DRAFT - INDIVIDUAL REGISTRATION
New players or returning players who are NOT part of a coach’s pre-formed team will be placed in the draft pool and either moved to pre-formed teams with openings on their rosters or moved onto a roster of a newly created team.
Any requests regarding specific player placement can be listed in the "notes" section of the online registration.
When possible, formation of teams from the draft will be based on geographical "school" area. However, we do not guarantee players will be placed on teams with other players from their schools/neighborhoods. Players are placed on teams after registration has closed.
MISC TEAM FORMATION RULES
Boys who have played in leagues other than ASA and/or play at a select or club level may be required to play at a higher division level than grade level. ASA Board review is required to determine the best division for the competitive play.
COMPETITIVE PLAYER EVALUATIONS
If your child is interested in playing in the competitive league and does not already have a team to go to, they must attend and pass a competitive evaluation.
Players MUST BE REGISTERED for the evaluation to attend.
Cost: $10
Saturday, July 27- 9:00-11:00am at Stephen Terrell Recreation Center
or
Saturday, August 3- 9:00-11:00am at Stephen Terrell Recreation Center
Space is limited
Attending the Competitive Evaluations does not guarantee a spot on a competitive team for your player. If they pass the evaluation and there is space on an existing team, they can be added.
If we cannot place your player on a competitive team, you will have the option to go into the recreational open registration.
