Uniforms & Equipment
BASEBALL
Uniforms are not included with registration. The Head Coach is responsible for coordinating team uniforms. Uniforms typically include: jersey, baseball pants, belt, socks, baseball cap. Uniforms should not cost more than $100.
Equipment is not included with registration. Parents are responsible for equipment. Equipment typically includes: Batting helmet, bat, glove and cleats.
BASKETBALL
Uniforms are not included with registration. The Head Coach is responsible for coordinating team uniforms.
- All players must wear a jersey that is the same color as their team and has permanent numbers affixed to them on front (4”) AND back (6”). Taped numbers are unacceptable and players with taped on numbers will only be allowed to play in the first game of the season and will not be allowed to play after that.
- Approved uniform numbers are 00,0-99.
- Reversible jerseys are recommended, but two opposite color jerseys to fill the requirements would be acceptable. Numbers will be of a contrasting color to the jersey worn.
- The home team will wear light colored jerseys and visitors will wear dark colored jerseys. Two teams with contrasting colors will be allowed to play a game.
- All players must wear gym appropriate shoes for basketball.
- Officials will not allow players to play with jewelry, including earrings and/or band-aids covering the earrings. Players cannot wear anything “hard” like plastics or metals in their hair or facial hair (beads, berets, etc.).
- Medical and religious medals are not considered jewelry and can be worn as long as they are taped down.
- Balls are provided by the HOME team and are the responsibility of the coaches and players when playing in AISD facilities. ASA provides game balls for games at the STRC.
CHEERLEADING
Uniforms are not included with registration. The Head Coach is responsible for coordinating team uniforms. Uniforms typically include: Shell (top) w/basic lettering, skirt, briefs, poms & bow. Uniforms should not cost more than $150. Uniforms should be similar in color to the football team the squad is aligned with. Stomachs and bottoms are to be covered at all times.
Other costs parents may incur include: Cheer shoes, Camp/practice wear, Spirit items such as cheer buckets, spirit stick/shakers, megaphones, cheer bags
FOOTBALL
Uniforms are not included with registration. The Head Coach is responsible for coordinating team uniforms. Uniforms should not cost more than $50 for flag football & $150 tackle football. Uniforms typically include:
- Flag/7v7 - Jersey, shorts
- Tackle - Jersey, pants
Equipment is the responsibility of the parent. All required equipment is listed below:
- Flag - Sonic Boom Flag-A-Tag Belt (Must be this brand), colored mouth piece & cleats
- 7V7 - Colored mouth piece and cleats
- Tackle - Colored mouth piece, football cleats, shoulder pads, 7-piece pant pad set, helmet w/face mask and chin strap, protective cup (boys), practice pants & jersey
GIRLS LACROSSE
Uniforms are not included with registration. The Head Coach is responsible for coordinating team uniforms.
Equipment is the responsibility of the parents. Required equipment includes: Lacrosse stick, goggles, mouthpiece, rubber cleats
INLINE HOCKEY
A player jersey is included with registration. Equipment is the responsibility of the parents. Required equipment includes:
- Skates - no trick skates or brakes
- Hockey Stick
- Helmet (with full face cage) and Mouth guard
- Gloves
- Shin Pads
- Elbow Pads
- Protective Cup (boys)
- Hockey Pants
- Shoulder Pads (optional)
- Padded Undershirt (optional)
SOCCER
Uniforms are not included with registration. The Head Coach is responsible for coordinating uniforms. Equipment is the responsibility of the parent. Required equipment includes: Shin guards and appropriate size soccer ball. Soccer cleats are optional.
Soccer Ball Sizes:
- 4U-8U Size 3
- 9U-12U Size 4
- 13U-19U Size 5
SOFTBALL
Jerseys are provided with registration for the 6U T-Ball league only. In addition, each t-ball team will be provided with 3 matching coach shirts. 6U T-Ball Coaches should complete the jersey order form and return it to the 6U League Director or bring to the coaches meeting. The League Director will place the order with our approved jersey vendor and will deliver prior to the first scheduled game.
Uniforms are not included with registration for any other league. The Head Coach is responsible for coordinating reasonably-priced uniforms. Uniforms typically include: Jersey, shorts/pants & socks
Equipment is not included with registration. Parents are responsible for equipment. Equipment typically includes:
- Cleats (no metal spikes)
- Glove
- Bat
- Batting helmet with facemask and chin strap (all ages)
- Fielder's Face Mask (all ages)
TRACK
Uniforms are not included with registration and are not required to participate.
VOLLEYBALL
Uniforms are not included with registration. The Head Coach is responsible for coordinating uniforms.
- ASA approved uniforms shirts for each player on a team will have numbers on the back and front of the shirt.
- Numbers must contrast in color with the uniform and be easily visible by the referee and scorekeeper.
- Numbers must be at least 4 inches tall on the front of the jersey, and at least 6 inches tall on the back.
- If the referee determines that the numbers are not easily readable by the scorekeeper, they may require the team to cover the numbers with masking tape to make them legible.
- LIBERO UNIFORM - The libero uniform can be the same as the rest of the team. It is a preferred option to have a contrasting color tank top that is worn over the player’s jersey for identification as a libero.
Kneepads are required for all players 7th grade and below. For 7th grade and above, they are highly recommended but not required. A Preventative Apparatus such as ankle braces can be worn.
