Summer Sandlot

Summer Sandlot was a program created in 2010 as an opportunity for kids to continue to stay active during the Summer months by playing the great game of softball. The program has now grown four times in size and has become a great outlet for meeting new friends, playing new positions on the field or trying a new sport for the very first time.

Here are a few other things about the program:

  • Every Tuesday night for 5 consecutive weeks, starting July 12th, from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
  • Participants are divided up randomly each week to form “teams”
  • All players hit off of a pitching machine (there is no pitching)
  • Everybody bats, every inning
  • Defensive positions rotate. Play where you want!
  • No scoreboards, no umpires and very little coaching.
  • All participants get a FREE T-Shirt! (Please double-check sizes when registering)
  • Three age-groups
    • 08U (2007-2008)
    • 10U (2005-2006)
    • 12U/14U (2001-2004)
  • Registration is just $25

We will be utilizing 4 fields, with a field dedicated to each age-group. This opportunity is open to girls of any skill level. It doesn’t matter if you’ve never played before, as this is the perfect opportunity to try out a new sport in a fun, pressure-free environment.

Space is limited to 30 participants in each age-group except 8U which is limited to 60 participants. 

 

Summer Recreational League

Allen Sports Association is excited to announce the addition of a Summer Recreational League to our list of Summer programs.  This program is intended for those teams that are looking for ways to continue to play even throughout the summer months.  Here are some of the details that will make up this program. 

  • 8 game season
  • Double-headers for 4 weeks. Teams could have weeks with a BYE.
  • 12U/14U games on Monday nights, starting July 18
  • 10U (Modified Kid Pitch) games on Thursday nights, starting July 21
  • Game times of 6:30p and 8:00p
  • Teams must provide their own softballs
  • Governed by ASA 2015 Rule Book, with the following exceptions:
  • 75 minute time limit, finish the inning
  • 5 run max per half (4 run max for 10U)
  • Bat the roster
  • Free defensive substitutions
  • Courtesy Runner for Pitcher/Catcher will be last batted out
  • Games can end in a tie
  • No runs ahead rule
  • Teams must wear like color uniform shirts, all with numbers 
  • Only $65 per player

 

We will be taking a maximum of 8 teams for 10U and a maximum of 4 each for 12U & 14U.  Individual player registration is required. Coaches will be required to register as a Coach and will then be provided an invitation code that your players will use to register. There will be no draft option, so players must register directly to a team. Teams will be considered as CONFIRMED once they have at least 8 players registered. Once the league has reached the maximum number of teams, all partial teams will be refunded.  

All games will be played on the newly installed artificial FieldTurf surface at Allen Station Softball Complex, one of the premier softball facilities in North Texas.  Space is going to be extremely limited so you will not want to delay discussing with your team’s parents

Summer Competitive League

Allen Sports Association is excited to announce the return of the 12u and 14U Summer Competitive League to our list of Summer programs.

This program is intended for those teams that are looking for ways to continue to play throughout the summer months without having to spend an entire weekend in the hot Texas heat at a tournament.

 It’s a great way to break in new team members and/or work on game situations without the pressure of a tournament finish.

 Here are some of the details that will make up this program. 

  • 10 game season
  • Double-headers for 5 weeks. Teams could have weeks with a BYE.
  • Games will be on Wednesday nights, starting July 13
  • Game times of 6:30p and 8:00p
  • Teams must provide their own softballs
  • Governed by ASA 2015 Rule Book, with the following exceptions: 
  • 75 minute time limit, finish the inning 
  • 5 run max per half 
  • Bat the roster 
  • Free defensive substitutions 
  • Courtesy Runner for Pitcher/Catcher will be last batted out
  • Games can end in a tie
  • No runs ahead rule
  • Teams must wear like color uniform shirts, all with numbers
  • Teams must provide proof of insurance prior to their first game

 

Registration Fee: $450 per team

We can take a max of 8 teams. 

All games will be played on the Field Turf surface at Allen Station Softball Complex. With the addition of the artificial surface, not only do we have one of the top facilities in all of North Texas, but we also play. No metal spikes.
