* Championship Teams for 5/6 & 7/8 Boys will have tryouts TBA.  If you make the team, the additional money will be collected. We do not allow regisration for the championship team. You will have to register in Lightning or Junior when registering through Sportspilot.

ADDITIONAL FEES


 

Registration will require fees, as noted above, plus a current US Lacrosse registration of $25 per player. US Lacrosse membership is 12 months.  Renewal is required once a year. If you are new to lacrosse or if your membership has expired you MUST register with US Lacrosse. Membership includes requisite insurance coverage, and a subscription to Lacrosse Magazine. Uniforms & Player equipment are NOT included in the registration fee. Please click on the “Uniform” link above for a list of required Lacrosse equipment.  For Developmental Leagues please read below in Fall 2010 season information in regards to equipment.

 

  TOURNAMENTS and SCRIMMAGES

Fall is the tournament season for lacrosse for both girls and boys leagues.  Tournaments are weekend events with games being played on Saturdays and Sundays.  Scrimmages will typically be scheduled on Saturdays, but some scrimmages may be scheduled during weeknights. Travel to tournaments and competing local organizations in cities around the metroplex is required. This may include cities and regions such as Coppell, Southlake, and North Dallas.

 

  PRACTICES

Practices will be up to three days per week (one being Saturday), with potential scrimmages at home or neighboring communities. Practice location TBD (Reed Elementary School, Jupiter Field, or Ford Field, or another Allen field to be determined).

If you have any desire to work with children in a positive manner, please register as a coach below. Online curriculum is available, and ASA Lacrosse has a multitude of training DVDs and books to help you transfer your knowledge to the kids. Fall 2010 Season Information for ASA Lacrosse

TEAM FORMATION for the Boy's Program

  Teams will be formed on a first come first served basis.  Teams will have a minimum and maximum numbers of players based on the age group as outlined below.  Players will be placed on a waiting list until enough players register to create a new team.  A skills assessment will be conducted following the last day of registration

Players in grades 5-6 and 7-8 will be given the choice to try out for a championship level team. Tryouts will be conducted before the season starts and teams will be selected by a coach committee headed by the league director. If selected an additional fee of $35 will be required for participation on a championship team.

If not selected for a championship team a player will be placed on a competitive team roster.

TEAM FORMATION for the GIRL’S PROGRAM

If there are enough participants in a given program to form two teams, those teams may be based on skill level to allow each player to develop to their greatest potential.

Program structure & Team formation subject to change based upon number of participants.

 

Fall Season Schedule

The fall season for lacrosse in North Texas is focused around local tournaments  Teams in the developmental boys league will play 2 weekend tournaments in the fall that will have games on Saturday and Sunday.  Additional scrimmages maybe scheduled throughout the season.

Boys in grades 3-8 will play in 3-8 will play in 3 weekend tournaments in the fall that will have games on Saturday and Sunday.  Additional scrimmages maybe scheduled throughout the season.

 

Spring Season Game Schedule

BOYS LACROSSE

Boy's Uniforms - All players are required to purchase the official ASA lacrosse uniform (includes both a home and away jersey). Returning players may be able to use current uniforms.

Boy’s Developmental Program - The Boy’s Development Program is open to 1st and 2nd graders and is designed to teach basic skills for a strong basis for future lacrosse play. All equipment (helmet, shoulder pads, arm pads, gloves) is required to participate in the Developmental Program and players will be grouped according to basic skill level.  Practice Jerseys are required but game uniforms are not mandatory but will be offered.

The Spring boy’s lacrosse program (3rd-8th grade) will be divided up in to three different leagues. 

Bantam - The bantam league is open to all boys in 3rd or 4th grades. In addition to scheduled games, the bantam league will participate in a "play day"

Lightning - The Lightning league is open to boys who are in the 5th and 6th grades.  Both championship and competitive teams will be offered.

Girls Volunteer Coaches Needed

Girls Uniforms - Elementary school players (5-6 Grade) and Middle school players (7-8 Grade) are required to purchase the official ASA uniform (includes both home and away jersey) Returning players will use their current uniforms.

Girls Developmental Program- Open to  2nd, 3rd, and 4th graders and is designed to teach basic skills for a strong basis for future lacrosse play by focusing on the basics of the game through practices and scrimmages. The emphasis of this program is passing, catching, and having fun.

Standard lacrosse equipment is required.  In addition to scrimmages, the developmental team will participate in a "Play Day” tournament in April.

GIRLS ELEMENTARY TEAM - This league is open to girls in 5th and 6th grade. In addition to the league games, the elementary teams will participate in a "Play Day" tournament in April.

GIRLS MIDDLE SCHOOL TEAM - This league is open to girls in 7th and 8th grade.  In addition to the league games, the elementary teams will participate in a "Play Day" tournament in April.

"Playing Up"  

Parents requesting their daughter to participate in a higher grade program must email the request to the league director, Chris Smith (zzpz755@sbcglobal.net) prior to the first practice of the Spring Season. Approval for playing up will be at the discretion of the Girls League Director.
